It’s happened, Autumn is here and the days are shortening, will soon grow cooler, and the season to gather and harvest is upon us. Trees will soon begin to release that which they no longer need and nature will become quieter and turn inward. Holidays ending, darker skies, school beginning, leaves changing colours and falling from their branches… a somewhat abrupt end to the laid back days of August, and a theme of busyness casts its shadow. However, Autumn presents a beautiful opportunity to review and release that which you no longer need. As you shift from lighter clothes, tank tops to sleeves and sweaters, bare feet and sandals to socks and shoes you have the opportunity to also assess those habits, thoughts and beliefs that no longer serve us. I find that both Yin Yoga and Reiki can be a really beneficial tool in helping with that process. Whether you are a Reiki student or a client of Reiki, this beautiful ancient healing art can act as a catalyst for positive and loving changes in your mind, body and spirit. As humans we constantly evolve and Reiki supports our growth as we move through life’s journey. Teaching Reiki this past summer and planning for Fall Reiki classes, I took the opportunity to once again review and revamp one of the more intense levels, Reiki Level 3 for Personal Mastery. This level of Reiki encourages the student to dig deep into releasing the old, stale energies and beliefs that have been stored at their core. Each is asked to reassess their relationship with Reiki energy as practitioners and students, and embrace new ways of being that fit where they are in their lives right now. The perfect way to prepare for the last level of Reiki, which is the Master/Teacher level. I don’t know if they plan it or if the universe moves things this way, but I do notice an increase in Reiki clients and students booking in either Spring (when embracing new growth is prevalent), and more so in Autumn when nature is showing us the ease of letting go of that which it no longer needs. I suspect clients and students are much more intuitive than they realize and are drawn to modalities that meet their need to shift, at these times of years. Autumn Reiki sessions and classes blend perfectly with the traditional themes of AutumnLet Go and Release through easing anxiety and encouraging relaxation. Reiki helps you to release physical pains and emotional baggage. Reiki encourages you to Gather and Nourish positive energies into your entire being and to share that energy with those around you. During a Reiki session you may be inspired to also Harvest the lessons taught through the past months, embrace what fits for you and release that which doesn’t support your growth. The colours of Autumn help you to hold steady through the shifts and changes of releasing and letting go. Brown, orange, red and yellow are all grounding colours and those that also correlate to the lower chakra (energy) centres in the body. Your Root Chakra holds you steady and grounded, while Orange stimulates the creativity of the Sacral Chakra and Yellow supporting your personal will as it stimulates the Solar Plexus Chakra. As nature turns inwards Reiki energy can encourage you to do the same in preparation for new growth in the weeks and months to come.
Reiki sessions and classes are available in both Chilliwack and Calgary through this Autumn. Discover more information about Reiki Classes here.
