Craniosacral Therapy for Infants & Children
Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle, non-invasive hands on form of bodywork that treats the whole body and not just the symptoms. It supports and encourages a natural regulation of the nervous system and promotes whole-body wellness. It’s a way to meet your infant/child’s nervous system where it is.
A session with your child should feel safe and nurturing, and I strive to create an environment of trust with both you and your child. Because of this I will not force the session but instead meet your child/infant where they are. I also ensure that you are in close view or hands on with your child during the session.

Your child will remain fully clothed and treatment may happen on the treatment table, in parents arms or even, at first, in the car seat. It begins with assessment, through very light touch to the skull, spine, ribcage, belly, arms, legs and feet and based on the assessment, the session will begin. Touch and movement are gentle, light and often almost undetectable to release tensions in the fascia.

Parents can expect to take an active role in their infant/toddler’s craniosacral therapy session and there will be homework/guidance for things to do at home to enhance each session.
For infants: 95% of babies need to feed part way through their session, will often spit up during a session and likely need a diaper change. Please be sure you bring what you need for these occurrences. The Craniosacral Therapy session can continue while your baby is nursing/feeding if you are comfortable with that.
For Toddlers: Craniosacral Therapy will often cause your child to be thirsty during the session, be sure to bring water or whatever they usually drink. Also, be sure to bring what you need for a diaper change as well as 2 or 3 toys/books that keep your child distracted.
**It can take anywhere from 1 to 4 sessions for basic issues to be resolved, usually twice a week for infants and weekly for toddlers and older children. I highly recommend booking ahead to ensure you can get in when needed. With 24 hours notice you can always cancel those appointments not needed.
