COVID 19 Infection Prevention and Control - Updated and effective January 4, 2021
In the event of additional measures or directives by Alberta public health authorities, if those measures or directives are of a higher standard, the directions of the Alberta public health authority take precedence. When changes to requirements are made by the Alberta public health authority, they will be posted here and on my social media sites.
Masks * Hand Hygiene * Pre-Screening * Appointments * Payment

The following are updated protocols that will be in place for sessions with me beginning January 4, 2021.
I really have appreciated your understanding as we navigated changes through 2020, and while there is light at the end of the tunnel, there is still need to maintain practices that keep both you and I safe.

Masks
For Me: I will be changing to a higher level of Medical Mask. These masks are further preventative in reducing droplet, fluid and aerosol spread. I have a mask on before entering the clinic and change my mask between each client.
For You: You will be wearing a clean cloth mask or new (not reused) disposable mask the entire time that you are in the clinic and the treatment room (even while dressing/undressing). Please do not remove your mask.
ONLY IF, you find it difficult to breathe with the mask on while face down on the massage table there are two options: I will place a droplets barrier around and beneath the face support so that you can slide your mask down. Before you turn over I will sanitize your hands both before and after you slide your mask back up, OR I can offer your session in a side lying position so that it is more comfortable to keep your mask on. If possible please let me know of your preference prior to your appointment so that I can be set up appropriately.
Please bring a 2nd mask with you in case yours becomes damp. Damp masks are ineffective and need to be replaced.

Hand Hygiene
For Me: I thoroughly wash my hands with hot water and soap many times through the day as well as sanitize if I have touched something in between. My hands are sanitized when I enter the clinic, washed before I clean and disinfect surfaces in the treatment room between each client, again before I put clean linen on the massage table, washed again before replacing my mask or apron, washed again after taking used linen off the table, washed before and after each treatment. I use sanitizer in between.
For you: I ask that you sanitize your hands when you enter the clinic, again after signing or filling out any forms and once more after your session before leaving the treatment room (hand sanitizer provided). If part of your session includes hand massage please use the hand sanitizer before leaving the treatment room, and then also use the bathroom to wash with hot water and soap, as sanitizer is not as effective on oily hands.
If you use the credit/debit card machine (see payments below) then you can be assured that we have sanitized the machine and our hands before we've touched it and it is sanitized between each user. There is hand sanitizer beside the machine for you to use if you wish.
**I supply Hand sanitizer with 60% to 80% alcohol level and that is on Health Canada's approved list. If you wish to supply your own hand sanitizer it must meet the same standards. Health Canada maintains a list of accepted sanitizers as well as any that have been recalled.
You always have the option to use hot water and soap.

Pre-Screening
For Me: I self-screen each morning before beginning work. This includes taking my temperature and checking in with myself for any symptoms. If I have symptoms then appointments will be cancelled until I receive a negative Covid test.
For You: Less than 24 hours before each appointment the booking app will send you a Covid19 prescreening check form to complete and it must be completed for each appointment. I will prescreen you again when you arrive for your appointment. The pre-screening questions include:

If your answer is 'YES' to any of the questions in the prescreening checks then you are required to postpone your appointment until you can answer 'NO' to each. This keeps everyone safe! You, me and my clients that have pre-existing conditions that leave them more vulnerable to serious COVID19 infection. There is no cancellation fee should you develop symptoms or your answers to pre-screening change, if you contact me to cancel. Not showing up for your appointment, without calling to cancel, will result in a charge
**Parents/Guardians attending an appointment with their child will be pre-screened as well and are expected to mask and sanitize as above.

Appointments
I am not accepting walk-in bookings at this time as it doesn't allow for adequate screening time. If you are not able to attend your appointment you need to cancel and not send an alternative person in your place.
To maintain social distancing measures in the clinic do not arrive earlier than 5 minutes prior to your appointment. If you are with, or meeting another person they will have to wait elsewhere or in their car during your appointment and not in the waiting area (exception for Parents/Guardians of underage children)
