Massage involves a system of long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration and shaking motions that loosen and relax tight and knotted muscles, which may be causing pain or imbalance.
Stretching loosened muscles or the fascia that surrounds them, lightly encouraging lymphatic drainage, helping the muscle to open and relax... Massage increases circulation and restores a sense of harmony.
BUT there is more to Massage than the physical aspect of relaxing muscles, there is the holistic benefits of touch, in reducing stress and calming the mind. From the moment a person's hand is placed on the arm of another there are numerous physical and emotional events that are triggered in both body and mind.
In offering Holistic Massage for women I draw upon the many continuing education courses I've taken since completing my Massage Therapy training in 1996, that focus on women's specific needs for well-being. Whether Prenatal/Postnatal, PMS and Menopause symptoms or those related to aging, I've taken numerous courses. I do not practice Massage Therapy in BC (my training is from Alberta), my Holistic Massage sessions focus on relaxation only.
It is awareness and attention to the effect of the session on the whole being, that is the focus of a Holistic Massage session. Isn't it time for yours?

She is AMAZING !!! I have gone to see her after being told that my shoulder would always have limited range of motion. After four Massage sessions I now have FULL RANGE of MOTION! My husband went to see her. He was in a car accident 20 years ago. His arms would go numb and he couldn't look up. After four sessions of SPINAL TOUCH he has complete range of motion of his neck and his arms NEVER go numb any more! Teresa is Amazing and I recommend her to everyone. ~ Coralee Lord Holmes
