Snoring is something that many have to deal with. For some it's only occasionally and for others it can be an ongoing issue. There are so many things that can cause you to snore:
How can Craniosacral Therapy help with snoring?Craniosacral Therapy supports ease of movement of the fascia around the nose, mouth, face, neck and throat, through helping to ease tension in the fascia. The bones in these areas are meant to move freely, often movement brought about by your breathing. But it isn't always the case. Throughout the body fascia is meant to move easily and fluidly allowing the tongue to move freely, sinuses to drain and overall stress and tension to release as the nervous system calms. Through assessment Craniosacral Therapy can detect where areas that impact snoring are not moving as they should, or are restricted in some way. Then through gentle techniques, Craniosacral Therapy encourages tensions to ease. Sinuses drain, your tongue relaxes, facial compressions ease, the airway is less restricted, muscle tension in the head, face and neck is reduced… Depending on the cause your session may also involve some gentle intraoral Craniosacral Therapy. It’s not likely to happen in one session (though it might). More than likely you would need to book 3 to 4 weeks in a row of one session each week. And of course you can encourage your progress through the “homework” that may be given. Homework could include tongue exercises and or singing to strengthen the muscles of the throat, using mouthtape to encourage breathing through the nose, stretches to ease tensions in the neck and shoulders… The benefits of a better night's sleep are worth it!
