![]() There is A LOT going on in the world right now. It often feels overwhelming. Even for those not watching the news, there is an energy of fear and anxiety that is palpable. If you’re at all empathic then you are likely feeling the impact of that energy to a really uncomfortable degree. What have clients been saying? They are not sleeping well, having trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Waking up feeling anxious, and that energy stays with them throughout the day. Experiencing nausea, muscle tension, increased headaches, exhaustion, adrenal fatigue… Know that I hear you. ![]() Guess what? All of this is absolutely normal! When you are feeling anxious, fearful, upset it’s going to show up in your physical body. AND you can have these emotions without being able to put your finger on the exact reason why you’re having them. Please, allow yourself some grace. But at the same time, realize it's not sustainable. I notice this in the energies that you bring to your session and how your nervous system is responding during your session. While you may have come in for relief from a headache, I’m interested in not only the physical cause (tight muscles, hormone irregularities, impact of weather changes, stress…) but the emotional mental aspect. Are the muscles tight because of what is happening around you? Or are you not stretching enough? Is the stress headache caused by fascial restrictions in the skull? Or because of the energy around you, and that it’s keeping you awake at night? It’s all important. ![]() What I am hoping to offer during the time that each client is in my treatment room is a space that shifts away from what is going on in the world, and instead, is completely focused on you and your holistic well-being. If I can help you to become fully present in the moment, in yourself, then it will go a long way to shift you out of overwhelm. Being fully present in the moment empowers you beyond any healing modality that I can offer. But often we all need some assistance to get out of our heads and the thoughts that are racing around, calm our emotions and decide whether those emotions are ours or something we are picking up on from others around us. This is the space where holistic healing modalities help. ![]() With Craniosacral Therapy, as an example, when the nervous system is encouraged into a state of calm and quiet, many things can happen. The body resets, releases tension, pain and restriction and stops pumping out high doses of the chemicals that stress creates. The mind calms and can be fully present in the reality that is actually now, at the very moment, completely safe. The body shifts over to release healing, feel good chemicals and hormones. Everything has the opportunity to reset. ![]() In addition to the treatment you’ve come in for, the room has been set up to encourage a sense of peace. Colour, art, music, bright lights dimmed, heated table, soft blankets… have all been chosen specifically to create a “time out” space. A stress free zone. The door (and in Chilliwack, the window) are opened between clients to bring in fresh air and energy. All of the linens are changed and a fresh oil container is brought out. How can you add to creating a time out space for you?
There is both a yes and a no answer to this. An intuitive empath, I of course pick up on the energy that you bring with you for your session, and that’s a good thing. It helps in navigating the session that I offer you and ensures that it meets the need of where you are at in that moment. When you release that energy whether through a sigh, twitch, big breath, tears or however, that is also a good thing. Better out than in. However, I do not hang on to your energy or what has been released, or take it on personally in any way. You have your journey and path, I have mine. They are separate and distinct. It doesn’t serve either of us for me to take on and hold onto clients' energies. Between each client I release and clear whatever has been left in the space. It doesn’t linger or affect me, or the client that is coming in next. I encourage you to book in and take full advantage of a Stress-free zone, if even for just a short time.
