New Years resolutions seem to be a thing of the past, or are they? I don't tend to call them that, but as each year draws to a close I find myself reflecting on what has passed in the year before, and what my intentions are moving forward.

Sometimes selfcare is not just about bubble baths and meditation, sometimes it's about recognizing and then addressing issues that need to be resolved, with consistency, so that you can clear them. It can be more arduous work like clearing physical clutter to allow for increased clarity of mind, or making self care appointments ahead of time to ensure that you honour the commitment to healing you've promised yourself. It may be focusing on taking your life in a new and more empowering and supportive direction. In a recent discussion amongst Holistic Practitioners the question was asked “Why do clients come to see you?” “Why do they come back?” After thinking about this I decided that a part of the reason was perhaps, the opportunity to take a “time out” for however long they were on my table. That for an hour or more they could rest in mind, body and spirit, not be “on” and not have to be “doing”. Instead for a short time they could just rest and be. Why do I get this impression? Because the thing I hear from you most often is “I have never felt so relaxed. Ever." Taking “time out” or resting your mind, body and spirit is a crucial part of physical, mental and emotional health. It does not have to be earned. When you book an appointment with me you are agreeing to my Clinic Policies. All of them. No ifs, ands or buts. I really encourage clients to be sure they are familiar with them because I do enforce them. They were created to ensure that there is a safe and respectful environment for you and for me. As Cold/Flu/Virus season approaches it's an opportune time to post some reminders. When clients come in for their sessions mid-summer there is a noticeable shift in their posture and walking gait. Much of that has to do with summer sandals and the pressure placed, through the feet, to other parts of the body.
A woman’s life is naturally cyclical, from birth to death. Hormonal changes throughout your lifetime create an arc of growth, maturity and an eventual end, all of which impact your body, mind and spirit. At different stages of that growth different aspects of the whole woman come to the forefront. Early life is mostly focused on physical growth and as you flow into your later years, the spiritual side can begin to take precedence. Energy shifts constantly flow through all of your years of life. Each stage and each cycle creates the unique and empowered woman that you are today. Mindfulness
Clients have heard me say this often after their sessions with me, especially after Massage. The main reason behind this "after session" advice is that it extends the benefits of your session after you return home. But there's more...
