Sometimes selfcare is not just about bubble baths and meditation, sometimes it's about recognizing and then addressing issues that need to be resolved, with consistency, so that you can clear them. It can be more arduous work like clearing physical clutter to allow for increased clarity of mind, or making self care appointments ahead of time to ensure that you honour the commitment to healing you've promised yourself. It may be focusing on taking your life in a new and more empowering and supportive direction.

In a recent discussion amongst Holistic Practitioners the question was asked “Why do clients come to see you?” “Why do they come back?” After thinking about this I decided that a part of the reason was perhaps, the opportunity to take a “time out” for however long they were on my table. That for an hour or more they could rest in mind, body and spirit, not be “on” and not have to be “doing”. Instead for a short time they could just rest and be. Why do I get this impression? Because the thing I hear from you most often is “I have never felt so relaxed. Ever." Taking “time out” or resting your mind, body and spirit is a crucial part of physical, mental and emotional health. It does not have to be earned. Healing Can Happen Through Relaxation The comment I hear most often from clients, at the end of a Craniosacral Therapy session or Reiki session, is that they have never before felt so deeply and completely relaxed. There is something in the quiet of those two Holistic therapies that nurtures you, mind, body and soul. A woman’s life is naturally cyclical, from birth to death. Hormonal changes throughout your lifetime create an arc of growth, maturity and an eventual end, all of which impact your body, mind and spirit. At different stages of that growth different aspects of the whole woman come to the forefront. Early life is mostly focused on physical growth and as you flow into your later years, the spiritual side can begin to take precedence. Energy shifts constantly flow through all of your years of life. Each stage and each cycle creates the unique and empowered woman that you are today. Mindfulness
This theme for the March enewsletter brought many inspiring thoughts! The days are a little brighter and a little longer and as the first day of Spring is within sight, your mind and spirit may feel just a little lighter.
This year (2024) that day happens on March 19th. 2024 marks 30 years since I began teaching Reiki. I had been in the practice for a few years prior to completing my Reiki Master/Teacher training in late 1993. It has been an amazing journey from two perspectives.
