In a recent discussion amongst Holistic Practitioners the question was asked “Why do clients come to see you?” “Why do they come back?” After thinking about this I decided that a part of the reason was perhaps, the opportunity to take a “time out” for however long they were on my table. That for an hour or more they could rest in mind, body and spirit, not be “on” and not have to be “doing”. Instead for a short time they could just rest and be. Why do I get this impression? Because the thing I hear from you most often is “I have never felt so relaxed. Ever." Taking “time out” or resting your mind, body and spirit is a crucial part of physical, mental and emotional health. It does not have to be earned.

When you book an appointment with me you are agreeing to my Clinic Policies. All of them. No ifs, ands or buts. I really encourage clients to be sure they are familiar with them because I do enforce them. They were created to ensure that there is a safe and respectful environment for you and for me. As Cold/Flu/Virus season approaches it's an opportune time to post some reminders. Do you twirl? You know what I mean don’t you? When you spread your arms wide and gently spin your whole body. Feeling the breeze through your finger tips, your body in motion and a sense of freedom. I think that as we age twirling becomes a lost art. An art that benefits your health at all ages including increasing balance, proprioception, joy and relaxation. You will see the term “holistic approach” all over my website, social media and blogs. It is the approach I take to all of the sessions I offer and how they may impact you on the day that you’re receiving them.
What are the benefits of Reflexology during the hotter and drier summer months? There are many, but let's focus on the main ones.
When a belief, relationship, physical item, etc. are held on to, part of your energy is held in the past, when you were first given the item, the relationship started or the belief was taught. If the associated memories are positive then you feel good when thinking about the past, and that energy of feeling good brings positive thoughts into your now. Where your energy belongs.

We had the most interesting experience yesterday, a client and I. During a Craniosacral Therapy session my client displayed, in real time, a response from the Vagus Nerve. It was pretty amazing to be a part of! How is your Vagus Nerve Tone? After the past two years and the impact of a pandemic on our daily lives, I'm going to guess that its not that good. If the stress of Covid was placed on top of existing stress or physical/emotional trauma, your Vagus Nerve tone is probably struggling. The majority of us have had to modify and adapt our personal and work lives, as well as limit our social engagements. There have been many unknowns as we've tried to safely navigate our lives and keep others safe. The result has been chronic stress at varying levels. (The pandemic has made stress appear to be more prevalent however many people were already dealing with the burden of chronic stress and unresolved trauma prior to Covid.)
