Emotions are a natural and human way of expression. And you are human before you put on any of the other roles you have in this life. Emotions are also an energy that you can suppress or release. Energy naturally needs to move, it is something meant to be in constant motion, especially if it's to be released. When you grip tightly to suppress emotions, or the movement of that emotional energy within your being, the result is a sense/feeling/expression of unease (or dis-ease)

There is a lot of fast paced, hustle bustle activities in our daily lives. Reiki should not be one of them. Lately I've noticed that people are in a hurry with their Reiki sessions, especially those that are providing one. I was discussing this with a colleague yesterday and she felt that in part it was that people, Reiki practitioners included, are often ungrounded, living in their heads and not taking time to get into their bodies and quiet their busy minds before engaging with others or with energy work. I think that she is on to something. It’s happened, Autumn is here and the days are shortening, will soon grow cooler, and the season to gather and harvest is upon us. Trees will soon begin to release that which they no longer need and nature will become quieter and turn inward. Holidays ending, darker skies, school beginning, leaves changing colours and falling from their branches… a somewhat abrupt end to the laid back days of August, and a theme of busyness casts its shadow. For many it feels like forever since we've seen our friends, family, clients and colleagues, but with staying home and keeping everyone safe, we're now seeing a light at the end of this tunnel.
The idea of businesses re-opening can be both exciting and scary. With regards to Booking your Massage Therapy or Holistic Sessions, I want to put your mind at ease. At this point in our journey it's accepted that you have embraced the idea that the health of mind, body and spirit are all integral to our holistic well-being, and that it's totally ok to have any and all emotions during changes in your life that affect all parts of you. If you're not at this point yet then move backwards through the previous blog posts...this next part of the journey is interesting, playful and enlightening. After 25 years I've discovered there is an area of my practice where I haven't communicated with clients clearly enough and lately it has caused some confusion. The thing about being in practice for so long is I think I assume some things that I shouldn't and it takes a few miscommunications for me to realize...ahhh, it's really clear...but only in my head...lol My connection with Reiki, from when I received my first session, through learning, sharing sessions and also teaching, has been a journey filled with twists and turns and a lot of lessons. Not all of it easy, but I think those experiences have made me a better teacher and practitioner. Reiki is all about being open to allowing and receiving energy that is loving and healing. Deservability can raise it's ugly head in whether we feel we're worthy. That self-judgement is completely dissolved as we feel the vibrations of Reiki's beautiful energy. During 2019 I saw a number of clients in both Calgary and the Fraser Valley for a number of reasons. They brought some similiar issues to the treatment room for us to address.
The main problem being tackled (which displayed itself through symptoms) was a feeling of life being too much, too busy, too much to do, too much to take care of, too many places to get to... Too much was a common theme. Here are the top 5, plus how we worked together to resolve them: |
