A Re-Set for Stress & Overwhelm with Craniosacral Therapy

There is a reason that many refer to the month of September as 'Stresstember'. We all go through changes galore and if there is one thing that we don't tend to enjoy it's change!
Stresstember
The ending of summer holidays and return to work and school seems abrupt, even though we know it's coming. These changes can bring feelings of stress and overwhelm as kids adapt to a new school year, and so do parents! And whether or not you have kids many of us still associate the month of September with "back to school", which can evoke some great and some painful memories and life lessons.

Autumn, while beautiful can be overwhelming too
Extracurricular activities for kids and adults, days become shorter with less light, those with S.A.D begin to feel the changes and we start to wrap up in extra layers to shut out the looming cold weather.

​While the colours of Fall can be beautiful and inspiring and the cooler weather invigorating, September can feel overwhelming for mind, body and spirit. We need some quiet and reflective time to re-set, re-group and adapt. That's where Craniosacral Therapy can help.

Autumn selfcare with Craniosacral Therapy
One of the benefits of Craniosacral Therapy is it's ability to encourage the Nervous System to calm down. In that quiet space of a session, where you are relaxed and peaceful, calming of the nervous system is a bonus. When calmed and in a resting phase the body has a chance to re-set itself through it's innate abilities to rejuvenate and heal.

From a place of calm it is easier to 
  • sleep well and rest which is vital to well-being
  • take an overview of planned activities and conserve energy, book in stress breaks, or possibly remove some activities so it's not as stressful
  • digest our food. Good nutrition can play a big role in easing stress
  • be more in tune with our body, mind and spirit 
  • boost the release of 'feel good' chemicals and hormones in the body which improves our mood and our body's immune response

Make your self care a priority as you ease in to the busyness of September. Your body, your mind and your spirit will thank you for it!
