![]() OK, so you’ve done the work, peeled back layers of your life, like an onion, to discover at least one thing that is no longer working for you. That something is up for change as you create holistic balance in your life. You’ve explored the ways that work for you and hopefully found 2 or 3 that work and you’re in the process of integrating those changes. Now what?

![]() February has been deemed "Heart" month and with a focus on healthy hearts, what I see advertised in mainstream media are two things: keeping your heart healthy and chocolate for your Valentine. Hmm...that conflicts just a little. The ads seem mainly directed at the physical health of the heart muscle, and I'm not disputing the importance of that, however, what about the mood, emotion and spirit of your heart? A holistically healthy heart takes into consideration how mood and mental state affect the health of the heart, how what you take in whether it be food or feelings, has an impact. When your heart "feels"positive and you are feeding your body well it beats out a healthy thump. Depression and anxiety can quicken or slow the heart, panic and stress make it beat a little faster and then there is the food we ingest and the activities we participate in...it all makes a difference. The health of our Spirit plays a part as well. Are we connected to that aspect of ourselves, listening to the messages that Spirit shares and acting upon them? Are we staying in tune with our spiritual needs as well as our emotional and physical desires? ![]() Through February lets explore the link between holistic health sessions and how they impact upon the health of your heart's physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. I will include some positive steps you can take towards healing your heart to it's natural vitality. Follow along and share your ideas ![]() REIKI Level 2 Class Sunday, December 13 Take the next step in your Reiki journey and spend a peacful day surrounded by beautiful energy. What you'll learn in Reiki 2 (click here) Please pre-register as space is limited handtohealth@gmail.com ![]() Exploring the different levels of Reiki can take you through an amazing journey of self discovery. While a healing technique to share with others, Reiki is also a beneficial tool in healing ourselves emotionally, physically and spiritually. I always ask Reiki students whether they find it easier to feel the flow of energy when giving themselves a session or when sharing with another...the answer is always when they share with others. Why is that? Reiki is that loving Universal Life Force energy that surrounds all of us, each living thing. It helps the plants to grow, the earth to vibrate, the oceans to flow and encourages our own inner and outer energies to come to a place of balance and harmony. Why then, is it so difficult to give that gift of peace to ourselves? I often find the answer to this question changes, for most students, when they have completed their 2nd level of Reiki training. ![]() I think the answer to this lies in the journey both into and through the 2nd level, as the student is introduced to the more profound aspects of energetic healing. Often the experience can only be described as a "feeling" with few words that adequately give it expression. The consideration that each person works with energy in their own way is something that a student of Reiki 2 will have no room or space to doubt as they practice this healing art at its next level. It is truly an awe-inspiring and humbling thing to experience, and gives one a greater sense of each person's individuality while at the same time the clear picture of our oneness. ![]() During the Reiki 2 class sacred symbols are shared that help the practitioner to enhance and focus the ways in which they share Reiki energy whether hands on or long distance, whether placing their hands on their own heart or sending the healing to their back...the energy increases. More subtle aspects of the energetic field are also experienced and healed in learning to stimulate and balance the 7 main chakras as well as the male/female aspects that are a part of each of us humbling thing to experience, and gives one a greater sense of each person's individuality while at the same time the clear picture of our oneness. I believe once you have taken the steps to further your journey and learn the different aspects to Reiki 2, that it is near impossible to look back. The further commitment to holding that loving energy in your hands, to sharing it with yourself and others, moves it from a tool, to a habit and a pattern and provides a fresh way of viewing the world around you. It enhances the gift of light that we each have within and encourages you to share it with your hands.
Is the heat making you feel Hot, Irritable and Grumpy? Sun can be drying to our bodies; it can be scorching to our tempers as well! My session room is peaceful and cool. I invite you to a quiet oasis to relax, breathe and melt onto the table. A mini-vacation for just a little while. Choose scents of cooling mint or uplifting eucalyptus as an addition (scent optional) as you place yourself in my hands for a soothing session ![]() While the weather is hot and dry here are some Cooling Hints for in between your sessions …. *Drink LOTS of extra water to keep your body, mind and spirit hydrated! * Try to preplan your day and get your energy intensive obligations completed during the cooler times of the day (early morning, later evening) * Embrace the concept of the afternoon nap. Rest and restore your being during the hottest parts of the day. It is tradition in other, hotter climate countries for a reason. *Place a pan of cold water and ice cubes in front of your electric fan. It will blow the cool mist out and about your space. * Or take a cool shower and stand in front of the fan rather than drying with a towel *Place your feet in a pan of cool water and place a cold, wet cloth on the top of your head *Practice a cooling breath. Breath in through your nose and out through your mouth but create a tunnel with your tongue and lips and you’ll find your breath out is much cooler! |
