Mindfulness
In that space and time of mindfulness you have the most energy and power within you, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In those moments of just “being”, your mind, body and spirit are fully present for you. Busy and active lifestyles, fast paced work environments… can allow little time for mindfulness, often leaving your energy scattered and diffused. Because of the hectic society in which we live, times of mindfulness can be difficult to obtain and thus you can be moving through life feeling fatigued, depressed, frantic, stressed, flat. Unless you make the choice to purposefully embrace and engage in mindfulness practice, you may not experience the uplifting, energetic vitality that is natural to your being. Mindfulness, like any habit, takes practice and desire. Practise to engage with mindfulness and the desire to make it a regular part of your day, or, if you choose, a way in which to live your life. When we practice mindfulness, we send the message to our brain that we are more effective at dealing with everyday tasks when we are aware, observant, nonreactive, and nonjudgmental. This causes our brain to make the changes that will improve our ability to function mindfully. Holistic therapies and practices are really helpful ways to attune to how being present and mindful can feel in your body, mind and spirit. Once aware of how mindfulness feels for you, then it’s a matter of discovering those practices that help you to realise that feeling. You may find meditation, yoga, nature walks or creative visualisation are ways that bring you into that space of being fully present, it will vary and be as unique as you are. When you are sitting or lying on the table to receive a Craniosacral Session, Reiki Treatment, Massage… you are in a time out with nowhere else to go or be, for that period of time. That environment helps to set the stage for moving into a space of mindfulness. Perhaps next time you experience a session take some time to notice what else in that environment assists you in achieving a quiet state in mind and body. Is there scent, music, soft lighting? Which of these things could you bring into your practice of mindfulness when off the table? Benefits of Mindfulness include:
It's well worth your well-being of mind, body and spirit to bring the habit of mindfulness into your daily life. You will experience so much good! Use the guided meditation below as a starting point, for gaining awareness in your present moment

This theme for the March enewsletter brought many inspiring thoughts! The days are a little brighter and a little longer and as the first day of Spring is within sight, your mind and spirit may feel just a little lighter.
This year (2024) that day happens on March 19th. Clients have heard me say this often after their sessions with me, especially after Massage. The main reason behind this "after session" advice is that it extends the benefits of their session after they return home. But there's more...
I am asked this question often. While I can answer you with the basic benefits of the different modalities that I offer, I can't say how you, as an individual, will benefit. You are unique!
2024 marks 30 years since I began teaching Reiki. I had been in the practice for a few years prior to completing my Reiki Master/Teacher training in late 1993. It has been an amazing journey from two perspectives.
As a human being you have a natural instinct to protect yourself from harm. Your brain, through sight and hearing, stays alert to anything or situation that may be harmful. With exposure to stress, trauma and feeling unsafe, your nervous system can become somewhat stuck in protection and survival mode, even if there is no real threat. As a business owner it is really helpful to look back at the numbers from the past year to see where things have improved and where they may need some adjusting. As a Holistic Health Practitioner, while numbers are important, I look more closely at what clients mentioned the most in what was going on for them and which therapies they said were the most helpful. It's always interesting. It also often means that the numbers experiencing those issues are likely higher...you don't tell me everything, neither do you need to. What does it mean to Focus Massage on an area?
Taking 45 to 60 minutes to just focus massage to one area, for example the legs, the arms, or the back Allow:
